“I have worked on a wide varieties of properties in Cornwall. Each project is unique and the lighting is selected to compliment the period of the property and the style of the owner. Large open plan areas encompassing the kitchen, dining room and living area are increasingly common and it’s important that the lighting is flexible enough to create the different moods required with the changing use of space. An often overlooked aspect in every project is the switching and I spend a surprising amount of time discussing this with the client. Whether it is traditional switching or a control system that is being implemented, it is really important that it reflects the flow of the space and that the light switches are in the right places. It is easy to put extra cables in when it is a building site, but rather painful to do it once it is completed!”
