ELEANOR BELL is an architectural lighting design practice based in Falmouth, Cornwall UK. Projects range from bespoke lighting schemes for heritage and contemporary coastal properties to award-winning commercial spaces. The portfolio also extends internationally to unique light art installations, working to commission alongside private individuals, corporations and renowned contemporary artists, including James Turrell.
Working as a lighting designer, light artist and an electrician, Eleanor Bell has quickly become a voice of the industry. Sharing knowledge, ideas, and inspiring others to learn more about working with light is an important part of her practice, alongside running a busy design consultancy.
As well as regularly sharing lighting design ideas and inspiration through interviews and magazine articles, Eleanor has created her own YouTube channel for anyone wishing to learn more about the key principles of lighting design Light Bulb Moments – dedicated to sharing design tips, expertise and in-depth knowledge.
Eleanor Bell is an inspirational, engaging and charismatic public speaker, who enjoys appearing at specialist events across the UK. Covering a range of subjects, from Healthy Lighting in the Workplace to How to Succeed as an Artist in Industry – and much more – her expertise is applicable to a host of different audiences.
Eleanor is a fully qualified electrician (18th edition), alongside this she has gained the Advanced Lighting Design Certificates, awarded by the Lighting Industry Association. This unique mix of skills gives her the expertise needed to approach every individual project with beautiful yet also functional solutions.
When a project calls for a unique lighting feature, Eleanor’s background in contemporary art, design and making enables her to produce statement lighting pieces that reflect the personality of the building as well as that of the client. By creating a bespoke focal point, she can give your space the distinction it deserves.
